On 24 September 2026, Dr Despina Mavromati participated as a speaker in the 10th Annual Conference of Women in Sports Law (WISLaw), held at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne under the theme “Fair Play on Trial: Sports Law at the Crossroads of Justice.” As a founder of WISLaw, Dr Mavromati returned for the association’s tenth anniversary celebrations, marking a decade of promoting women’s participation and leadership in sports law. She spoke on the panel “Bridging the Gap Between European Law and Sports Arbitration”, alongside Suzanne Kingston, Judge at the Court of Justice of the European Union, Brianna Quinn (Bird & Bird), and Dr Laura Melusine Baudenbacher (Baudenbacher Law). The discussion addressed the evolving relationship between EU law and international sports arbitration. The anniversary conference brought together an exceptional group of speakers and participants from across the international sports law community.

Following the WISLaw conference, Dr Mavromati attended the 10th International Sport Arbitration Seminar, jointly organised by CAS and the Swiss Bar Association (FSA) in Montreux on 25–26 September 2026. The seminar offered an opportunity to discuss recent developments in sports arbitration, including human rights, competition law and CAS jurisprudence.
