Dr Despina Mavromati contributed a chapter to El Reglamento de Transferencias FIFA 2027: Comentarios Prácticos(Laborum, 2026), a collective work examining the extensive reform of the FIFA Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players following the CJEU’s landmark Diarra judgment. Her chapter, entitled “Interacción del nuevo RETJ de la FIFA con el derecho suizo y los ordenamientos nacionales” (Interaction of the New FIFA Regulations with Swiss Law and National Legal Systems), focuses on the relationship between the revised FIFA regulatory framework and applicable national laws, particularly Swiss law. It examines the new rules on compensation for breach of contract, mitigation of damages, inducement to breach, abusive employment practices and sporting sanctions. Edited by Gustavo Abreu, Miguel Cardenal and Gabriel Lozano, with a foreword by FIFA Chief Legal and Compliance Officer Emilio García Silvero, the Spanish-language volume brings together contributions from international football law specialists.

The book was presented at an international hybrid seminar organised by ICAD on 12 August 2026, bringing together its authors and other experts to discuss the practical implications of the reform.

The complete Spanish-language ebook is available free of charge through ICAD’s official download page.
